train&sustain
How to use
train&sustain is a flexible electronic toolkit, in the form of a USB memory stick. The 512Mb stick can be plugged into the USB port of any suitable computer.
The guide
This comprises over 150 pages of information about sustainable communities. It is available in Adobe format, which enables you to search the file using the contents page or thumbnails.
The slideshow
This is a set of slides (in Microsoft PowerPoint) sufficient to support a half-day workshop for a small group of participants. It covers all the main aspects of sustainable communities.
Supporting information is included in the manual (see below), and there is also a spare PowerPoint template for you to create your own slides in the same format.
The manual
This contains all the resources needed to run the workshop presentations or other tailored learning activities, together with some advice on how to go about it.
Pictures
The USB memory stick contains a small gallery of images prepared by ASC. You can download these, and/or use them for illustration or discussion purposes.
Storeroom
The USB memory stick has sufficient capacity for you to add your own text and pictures. For example, you may wish to add:
- Information about your own organisation
- Local examples and case studies
- Local images
- Your own organisation's projects or activities
- Your own administration documents, such as attendance sheets or feedback forms
More information
A pilot phase, exploring ways of using the toolkit, sharing best practice and giving feedback to ASC began in March 2008 and will run until September 2008.
Following the pilot phase the toolkit will be made more available. Information about how to obtain a toolkit will posted here in late September.
