South West: Dorset Working Group for the 2012 Games Learning Laboratory
The aim of this project is to translate the 2012 Olympic vision for Dorset into reality, by developing and nurturing the skills for working together to deliver the sailing Olympics.
The long-term view is for the development of sustainable communities in what is currently a heavily deprived area of Weymouth and Portland.
The project will address the leadership skills essential for partnerships; support professionals to develop effective communication skills and the development of a ‘Team Dorset' approach to the legacy issues.
This should ensure that the South West can optimise the opportunity of the Olympics and make the benefits to the local community sustainable.
