Wave and tide energy

Have the potential to be a good renewable energy source because waves are a powerful source of energy. This technology has the potential to generate significant levels of energy.

However, existing technology finds it difficult to harness the power of waves to produce a good supply of renewable energy and it needs to be well designed to avoid damage to the marine environment and navigation. Therefore these are very much emerging technologies.
