Sustainable Communities Plan

Launched by the Deputy Prime Minister in 2003, this Plan sets out a long-term programme of action to deliver sustainable communities.

It aims to focus attention and coordinate the efforts of all levels of government and stakeholders to meet the economic, social and environmental needs of both current and future generations.

It is made up of a number of programmes, including the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder Programme, the Housing Growth Areas and the Decent Homes Standard.
